1. Has being on Council met your expectations?
Being on council has met my expectations even though I wasn’t sure what to expect!
2. What advice would you give to a colleague/member who was thinking of standing at the next BEVA elections?
Advice for people thinking of standing would be to give it a whirl, maybe chat to a member of council about what it entails but it will be what you make it.
3. Do you think council represents the different parts of the industry fairly?
I do think that council is fairly representative of BEVA’s membership with people from practices of all sorts, charity and welfare sectors and from University settings. Perhaps it would be good to have more representation from industry but everyone brings something to the group so all welcome.
4. What has been the highlight of your time on Council so far and what are you looking forward to?
Highlights so far would be the winter meeting, which was very informative. Getting involved with areas of the profession that are new to me (ethics and welfare in particular but that probably makes me sound like a bad person!!) and being drawn into a diverse but very friendly and like-minded group. I’m looking forward to Congress and continuing to contribute to BEVA over the next couple of years.
